I've had my Masonic tartan kilt for a couple of years now, and enjoy wearing it very much! The fit is perfect, and the lightness of the material work great in our southwest Louisiana climate!

I would like to say something positive, but I cannot. I measured my son 3 times for "the perfect fit." I went by your recommendations for fitting. I thought the sizing was off, but continued by your instructions. The kilt is about 3 inches too big, on the buckles tightest settings. It cannot be worn, as it slips right off of him. It is unwearable as is. I am very disappointed, as we were just in Scotland in October, my son is half Scottish, and was very excited that we purchased this for him, but quite disappointed that he cannot wear it. I am trying to find a tailor that can help me, so far no luck.

The kilt and sash in Montgomery plaid, arrived from Pakistan with courteous updates and great customer service.
Sadly the odor of chemicals when opened the package made me ill within an hour. Headache and nausea - I was afraid to wash the fabric, and the dry cleaner did not want to take it. It seemed “stiff” with impregnated “something”.
As I am allergic to chemicals, I am trying to get a refund.
Have noted the USA return address on the east coast, also called the number connected to it and actually spoke with a live person - who responded to my email.
My case is being reviewed - but as I cannot give these away or wear them myself, I will be sending them the east coast return address within a week, so that the odor can be experienced first hand.
I am disappointed - and saddened to write this. I note that others have had a similar experience.
If using a chemical is standard to prevent damage to the fabric - i suggest the manufacturer stops this - it is not acceptable and very very unpleasant.
Sincerely and sorry to feel I need to write this review.

QUESTIONS FRÉQUEMMENT POSÉES
What are Tartan Plaid Ties?
Tartan plaid ties are neckties characterized by their distinctive patterns, which feature crisscrossed horizontal and vertical stripes in varying colors. Originating from Scottish heritage, tartan patterns symbolize specific clans or regions, adding a cultural depth to their style. These ties are often made from wool, silk, or cotton, making them suitable for both formal and casual occasions. Tartan plaid ties can enhance a variety of outfits, providing a touch of sophistication and individuality. They are popular choices for weddings, business events, and social gatherings, reflecting a blend of tradition and contemporary fashion.
What is the difference between Tartan Narrow and Bow Ties?
Tartan narrow ties and bow ties differ primarily in style and shape. Tartan narrow ties feature a long, slender design, often made from tartan-patterned fabric, offering a modern, sophisticated look suitable for both formal and casual occasions. They are typically worn with a standard collar shirt and can add a touch of flair to an outfit. In contrast, bow ties are characterized by their distinctive bow shape, tied around the collar, conveying a more classic, formal vibe associated with black-tie events and formal gatherings. While both can be stylish, their usage and aesthetic cater to different fashion sensibilities and occasions.
How long should my Tartan Plaid Tie be?
The ideal length for a tartan plaid tie typically falls between 57 to 61 inches, accommodating most wearers. When worn, the narrow end should ideally rest just above the waistband of your trousers, allowing for a balanced appearance. For taller individuals or those with larger frames, a longer tie may be necessary. Always consider your height and the style of the knot you prefer, as some knots require more fabric. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve a look that is both stylish and proportionate, ensuring the tie complements your overall outfit without overwhelming it.
How to style your Plaid Tartan Ties?
Styling plaid tartan ties can elevate your outfit with a touch of sophistication. To start, choose a tie that complements your shirt and suit. For a classic look, pair a muted tartan tie with a crisp white or light blue dress shirt and a solid-colored blazer. For a bolder statement, mix patterns—try a striped shirt with a tartan tie, ensuring the colors harmonize. Accessorize with a matching pocket square to unify the ensemble. Finally, consider the occasion: plaid ties work well for both formal and casual settings, making them versatile pieces in your wardrobe.
How should I care for my Tartan Plaid Ties?
Caring for your tartan plaid ties ensures they remain vibrant and stylish. Start by storing them hung in a tie rack or rolled gently to avoid creasing. For cleaning, spot treat stains with a soft cloth and mild detergent; avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the fabric. If necessary, dry clean your ties to preserve their quality. To remove wrinkles, use a steamer at a distance, or hang them in a bathroom while taking a hot shower. Regularly rotate your ties to prevent wear, and always handle them with clean hands to maintain their pristine condition.
