How far in advance should I order a wedding kilt?
Order 8 to 12 weeks before the wedding. Each kilt is hand-pleated and made to measure, so we allow 4 to 6 weeks for tailoring plus shipping. If your date is sooner, contact us about rush tailoring before you order.
Can the whole wedding party match?
Yes. Choose one tartan and we make every kilt in that sett, from the groom to the groomsmen to the father of the bride. Group orders are welcome and we keep your measurements on file.
Which tartan should we choose?
Most couples pick the groom's clan tartan, the bride's family tartan, or a universal tartan that anyone may wear. If you are unsure, search by surname or browse by colour to find a sett you both like.
What jacket goes with a wedding kilt?
For black-tie weddings a Prince Charlie is standard; for daytime or semi-formal an Argyll works well. Both are made to measure to match your kilt.
What accessories complete the groom's outfit?
A full-dress sporran, ghillie brogues, a kilt belt and buckle, and a fly plaid with brooch for the ceremony. A sgian dubh and kilt pin add the finishing detail.
Do you make kilts for the father of the bride or groom?
Yes, in the same tartan as the party. We also tailor for ring bearers and page boys so every generation matches on the day.
How do you take measurements?
We provide a simple guide for waist, hips, and kilt length. You can measure at home or use a local tailor's figures, and we cut to those exact numbers.
Can guests buy outfits in our tartan?
Yes. Point guests to our wedding guest outfits collection so they can honour your tartan without overshadowing the party.
Do you ship worldwide for destination weddings?
Yes, we ship internationally with tracking. Allow extra lead time for customs on destination weddings.
Why buy rather than rent?
A kilt cut to your measurements fits and photographs far better than a hired one, and it becomes a keepsake you can wear for years rather than returning the next morning.
